Wie
bereits erwähnt, fühle ich mich hier in Diabat und Essaouira zuhause... seit ich
das erste Mal 2007 hier war, zieht es mich immer wieder nach Essaouira. Es ist schwierig
zu beschreiben... man muss die Atmosphäre spüren, die das kleine überschaubare
Künstler-Städtchen am Atlantik versprüht! Eine sympathische Medina lädt zum
Bummeln ein und die Temperaturen sind sehr angenehm, auch jetzt im Sommer: 28
Grad tagsüber mit fast immer Wind und kühle 20 Grad in der Nacht auch mit Wind!
: ) Also ideal zum Sonnenbaden und ausruhen… und joggen am herrlich langen
Strand. Es herrscht eine Ruhe hier, die sich sofort auf mich überträgt...
As already mentioned, I feel at home here in Diabat and Essaouira... since the first time I was here in 2007, it draws me again and again to Essaouira. It is difficult to describe... you really have to feel the atmosphere of the small manageable town of artists on the Atlantic Ocean! A sympathetic Medina invites to stroll and the temperatures are very pleasant, even now in summer: 28 degrees during the day with lots of wind and chilly 20 degrees at night with the wind too! : ) Thus perfect for sunbathing and resting... and jogging on the gorgeous long beach. There is a tranquility here that immediately spreads over on to me...

Ich schlief bis ich aufwachte, arbeitete an meinem Blog, meiner Webseite und beantwortete
die vielen lieben e-mails - danke, dies bestärkt mich so in meinem
Unterfangen! : )) Ich ging jeden 2. Tag joggen - das Wasser war zu kalt,
die Wellen zu hoch und es hatte zu viele Leute am Strand, was mich daran
hinderten schwimmen zu gehen… Dafür genoss ich die Sonne und die fantastische
Aussicht wann immer ich die Zeit und Musse dazu hatte. Ich suchte all meine
Freunde auf und erzählte von meinem Vorhaben eine Weile in Essaouira zu bleiben... nun habe ich ein ganzes Wohnungssuchehelfernetzwerk
um mich! : )
I slept until I woke up, worked on my blog, my website and answered all the lovely e-mails - thank you, you are encouraging me in my plans! : )) I went for runs every second day - the water was too cold, the waves too high and it there were way too many people on the beach, which all prevented me from swimming... But I always enjoyed the sun and the fantastic view whenever I had the time and leisure to do so. I went to see all my friends and told them about my project of staying in Essaouira for a while... now I have a big apartmentsearchersnetwork around me! : )

Ich
besuchte natürlich auch meine Lieblingsrestaurants und entdeckte neue. Ja, nun
bin ich bei einem meiner Lieblingsthemen angelangt - Essen! : ) Die meisten von
euch wissen, dass ich sehr gerne und kreativ koche und die Ernährung als etwas
sehr Wichtiges betrachte... So galt mein erster Besuch dem Restaurant
Chalet de la Plage (https://www.restaurantlechaletdelaplage.com) mit dem äusserst sympathischen Kellner und Teil der
Einrichtung: Mohamed. So ist viel Spass bei sehr gutem Essen und heimeligen Ambiente garantiert! : ) Übrigens liess
mich Jeannot, der Besitzer, einige Male vor seinem Restaurant parkieren weil die
Parkplätze hoffnungslos überfüllt sind im August...
Of course I also visited my favourite restaurants and discovered new ones. Yes, now I arrived at one of my favourite topics - food! : ) Most of you know that I enjoy cooking and am quite creative in the kitchen as well as that I consider food as something very important... Consequently was my first visit to the Restaurant Chalet de la Plage (https://www.restaurantlechaletdelaplage.com) with the funny waiter and part of the establishment: Mohamed. Great fun while having nice food in a cosy ambience is guaranteed! : ) By the way, Jeannot the owner allowed me even a few times to park my car in front of his restaurant because the parking lots are overcrowded in August...

Einmal als ich nicht bei Jeannot
parkiert hatte, war mein Auto weg als ich zurückkam… Zum Glück habe ich letzten
Juni Nabil, den Polizeichef von Essaouira, kennen gelernt, so dass ich ihn
anrief um zu fragen, was ich tun soll. Er war gerade in Marrakech aber gab mir genaue
Anweisungen - und sollte es nicht
klappen könnte ich nochmals anrufen. So fuhr ich mit einem Taxi zum ‘Parkplatz
der abgeschleppten Autos‘ um nachzusehen, ob meines tatsächlich dastand - was es
tat. Dann nahm mich eine spanische Familie (der war dasselbe passiert) mit zum
Polizeiposten. Der anwesende Polizist wollte mir schon sagen, dass ich das Auto
erst morgen abholen könne, als ich ihm aber von Nabil erzählte, war alles klar
und er versprach mir, dass dies meine erste und letzte Busse sei! : ) Ich liess
also im Kopiergeschäft gegenüber Fotokopien von meinen Dokumenten machen, bezahlte
450 Dirham (ca. EUR 45), fuhr zurück zum Parkplatz, bezahlte dort nochmals 20
Dirham und hatte dann endlich 2 Stunden später mein Auto wieder! - Keine Ahnung
wofür das gut war, aber wenn es meine letzte Busse war dann war es echt cool! ;
)
Once when I had not parked at Jeannot’s place, my car was gone when I came back... Luckily I had met Nabil the chief police of Essaouira last June, so I called him and asked him what I should do. He was in Marrakech at the moment, but gave me precise instructions – and if I would have problems I could call him again. So I took a taxi to the 'parking lot of the towed away cars' to see if mine actually stood there - which it did. Then a Spanish family (to whom the same thing had happened) drove me to the police station. The policeman there wanted to tell me that I could only pick up the car tomorrow, but when I told him about Nabil, everything was clear and he promised, that this was my first and last fine! : ) I had copies made of my documents in the copy shop opposite, paid 450 Dirham (about EUR 45), drove back to the parking lot, there again I paid 20 Dirham and finally 2 hours later I had my car back! - No idea what that was good for, but if it was my last fine, then it was really cool! ; )

Ja, im August hat es sehr viele Leute hier in Essaouira - kein Wunder bei dem angenehmen Klima! So kam es auch, dass die Geldautomaten nachmittags schon kein Geld mehr hatten - ich hab noch nie so viele Geldautomaten mit einem Schild 'ausser Betrieb' gesehen! Auch ich hatte die liebe Mühe Geld aufzutreiben… jedesmal konnte ich nur 2000 Dirham (ca. 200 Euro) rauslassen, was jedes Mal Spesen kostet… Muss das sein?
Und weil Essaouira vor Besuchern fast aus seinen Nähten platzt im August, ist es auch schwierig eine Wohnung zu finden... Ich habe einige Wohnungen angeschaut, in der Medina wie ausserhalb am Meer, und entweder überzeugten sie mich nicht oder sind zu teuer! Aber ich habe ja Zeit und weiss immer mehr was ich will! : ) Zudem kann ich ab September diese Wohnung bei Aziz monatsweise mieten… mal sehen...
Yes, in August it is very crowded here in Essaouira - no wonder with the pleasant climate! So it happened that the ATMs in the afternoon were out of money - I've never seen so many ATMs with the sign 'out of service'! I really had trouble drawing my money... every time I was able to withdraw 2000 Dirham maximum (about 200 Euros), which always costs expenses... Is this really necessary?
And because Essaouira is bursting at its seams with visitors in August, it is difficult to find an apartment... I went to see several apartments, in the medina as well as outside at the sea, and none of them convinced me or was just too expensive! But I have time and know more and more what I want! : ) In addition, from September Aziz offered me to rent his apartment monthly... let's see...

Am Dienstag kam Mouad nach Essaouira… seine Kunden hatten den Plan geändert und flogen jetzt von Marrakech zurück, so musste er sie nicht nach Tanger fahren! Wir genossen noch 2 herrliche Tage hier, schmiedeten Pläne, kochten und besuchten seiner Familie, die jeden Sommer 2 Monate hier in Essaouira verbringt... Einfach nur sein und tun was gerade Freude macht und notwendig ist!

On Tuesday Mouad came to Essaouira... his customers had changed the plan and now were flying back from Marrakech, so he did not have to drive them to Tanger! We enjoyed two wonderful days here making plans, cooking and visiting his family, who spends two months here in Essaouira every summer... Just be and do what only what is fun and necessary!
